JCA Surveying completed a detailed feature survey covering nearly six kilometres of road in Lilydale. This work required two surveyors onsite for more than seven days, followed by an additional five days of drafting to produce the final survey outputs. Our feature survey included;
- Levels and contours of the survey area to the Australian Height Datum and on the MGA94 Zone 55 coordinate system.
- Location of significant trees, visible services, road line markings and general features of the survey area.
- Location and details (invert level, pipe diameter and direction) of stormwater pits and other visible drainage infrastructure.
- Collation of Dial Before You Dig information and plot on the survey plans.
JCA Engineering delivered both Functional and Detailed Design components of the work. We also managed a range of external consultants throughout the project, including traffic management and geotechnical investigation specialists associated with the road pavement design.
Spanning nearly six kilometres, the Engineering design incorporated a combination of urban and rural treatments, including kerb & channel works, vehicle entrances and drainage systems. While it may appear to be a straightforward road upgrade, the project required careful coordination and planning, taking three years from initial concept through to the current ‘staged’ construction.
